Who offers it

Part of Storage: disk, volumes and what persists, which explains why it matters.

Fully: Blaxel, boxd, Daytona, Lizard, Modal, Runtime, Tensorlake and Vercel Sandbox. With a catch: Cloudflare Sandbox, E2B and Morph. Not at all: Agent 37, Boat, InstaBox, Sandboxer and Sprites.

  • Note: Only one volume attaches to a sandbox, and it attaches to one sandbox at a time.

docs-confirmed “Blaxel Volumes provide persistent storage that survives sandbox destruction and recreation.” Source

  • boxdYes

Note: A disk attaches to one machine at a time and lives on one host.

docs-confirmed “A disk is standalone storage that outlives the machine it is attached to.” Source

  • Note: Volumes are network filesystems, not block disks, so a database table store is a poor fit.

docs-confirmed “Volumes are FUSE-based mounts that provide shared file access across Daytona sandboxes.” Source

  • LizardYes1–50 GB

Note: A volume attaches to one sandbox at a time and lives on one node.

docs-confirmed “Persistent Volumes keep data after a sandbox stops.” Source

  • RuntimeYesUp to 4

Each volume attaches at a path, read-write or as a read-only snapshot.

docs-confirmed “A create attaches up to four volumes, each at a path such as `/data`, in one of two modes” Source

  • A Cloud Volume can be mounted on one or more sandboxes, read-only if you choose.

docs-confirmed “Mount durable, shareable Tensorlake filesystems into sandboxes at boot, on warm-pool claims, or on a running sandbox” Source

  • A drive outlives the sandbox and can be attached to another.

docs-confirmed “A drive defaults to 1 TiB when you do not set a size (1 GiB for Hobby).” Source

  • Cloudflare SandboxWith a catch20 GB disk

The catch: There is no separate disk that outlives the machine; a bucket can be mounted, and a snapshot lasts 30 days.

docs-confirmed “Mounted buckets outlive every instance” Source

  • E2BWith a catch

The catch: Volumes exist but are in private beta and need access from support.

docs-confirmed “Volumes are currently in private beta.” Source

  • MorphWith a catch

The catch: The volume is object storage reached over S3, not a disk attached to the machine.

docs-confirmed “Morph Volumes are persistent S3-compatible storage for build caches, release artifacts, checkpoints, and shared datasets.” Source

  • No separate volume product; the instance disk is the only storage.

inferred “The whole disk persists, like a VM.” Source

  • No separate volume product.

inferred “A saved snapshot is a copy of a sandbox disk that you save under a name.” Source

  • One disk per machine; no separate volume.

docs-confirmed “A machine has one disk, `/data` (home is `/data/home`), 20 GiB by default.” Source

  • No separate volume product; the machine's own disk is the only storage.

inferred “"Disk" is space for your files, added on top of the OS image” Source

  • No attachable or shared volume; storage belongs to the Sprite.

inferred “The split is simple: disk persists, memory does not.” Source
