Hostinger sells KVM virtual private servers in four fixed sizes: KVM 1 (1 vCPU / 4 GB / 50 GB), KVM 2 (2 / 8 / 100), KVM 4 (4 / 16 / 200) and KVM 8 (8 / 32 / 400). Every plan includes root access, a dedicated IPv4, NVMe disk, 4–32 TB of monthly bandwidth, weekly backups and a browser terminal. The server runs in one of 10 data centers, four in Europe, three of them in the EU.

It is a general-purpose VPS, not a sandbox API. You buy a machine by the month, or prepay 12 or 24 months for a lower monthly rate; there is no per-second meter, no pause that keeps memory, no fork, and no documented way to create one machine per task cheaply. You manage the operating system, updates and TLS yourself.

For agents, Hostinger's angle is one-click Docker templates rather than a managed runtime: OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, n8n, Agent Zero, Dify and others can be deployed from the VPS dashboard. Hostinger also sells a separate managed AI automation plan that runs OpenClaw, Hermes, n8n or Paperclip (from $4.99/mo on a 24-month term, renewing at $11.99/mo; $10.99/mo on the 1-month term), which is not a VPS and is not priced by this card. A public API, CLI, Python/TypeScript SDKs and an official MCP server can manage the VPS itself.

At a glance

Who it is forReaders who want one cheap, predictable, always-on Linux box for an agent or automation, are comfortable with a terminal, and do not need per-task sandboxes, pause/resume, forks or a managed agent backend.
IsolationA KVM virtual machine with its own kernel, root, Docker and a dedicated IPv4. Hostinger says VPS customers share a physical server, and CPU is burstable under a credit system rather than a permanently dedicated core.
SizesFour fixed plans, no custom sizes: KVM 1 1 vCPU / 4 GB / 50 GB, KVM 2 2 / 8 / 100, KVM 4 4 / 16 / 200, KVM 8 8 / 32 / 400. CPU, RAM and disk cannot be upgraded separately; you move to a larger plan. KVM 8 is the top tier and cannot be upgraded, so growth means another VPS. No GPU on the VPS product; GPUs are a separate hourly product.

Fits well, fits badly

Our reading of the sourced material on this page, not a provider claim.

Fits well

  • One always-on agent on a normal Linux box: KVM 2 gives 2 vCPU, 8 GB, 100 GB, root, Docker and a public IPv4 for $24.49 a month.
  • A non-coder who wants OpenClaw, Hermes or n8n running quickly: the VPS dashboard has one-click Docker templates and a web terminal for the rest.
  • A predictable bill: the plan price is fixed, 4–32 TB of outbound data is included, and there is no per-GiB overage charge.
  • European hosting with France, Germany, Lithuania and the UK, three of them in the EU, plus a 99.9% SLA, ISO 27001 and a DPA.

Fits badly

  • Many short-lived tasks or one machine per user: there is no per-second billing and no cheap programmatic create/destroy loop.
  • Pause, resume or fork: stopping loses memory and still bills, and the single snapshot expires after a day.
  • A team that needs SSO, a hard account spend cap, a full audit log or scoped API keys.
  • Nested virtualisation, a custom OS image, a GPU inside the VPS, or a separate volume that outlives the machine.

How it bills

ModelPrepaid plan for a 1-, 12- or 24-month term. The monthly figure is the term total divided by its months, and the whole term is paid upfront.
MeterA flat price per plan per month. There is no per-second or per-hour meter and no usage-based overage on the machine.
While stoppedA powered-off VPS keeps billing in full. Stopping is a compute-only power change; only disabling auto-renewal ends the charge at the end of the term.
Plan feeThe plan price is the whole charge; there is no separate platform fee. A free domain for one year is included.
MinimumOne month of KVM 1 at the monthly-billed renewal, $19.49. The first month is discounted to $9.99. No free tier, and a card is required.

How Hostinger lets you try before paying is on Trials and free tiers.

Where it stands out

  • A full Linux VM with root, Docker, a dedicated IPv4 and 100 GB of disk for $24.49 a month on the monthly-billed term.
  • One-click Docker templates for OpenClaw, Hermes Agent and n8n, with a web terminal and Hostinger Agent for the rest.
  • Four European locations, three in the EU, a 99.9% SLA with a 5% credit, ISO 27001 and a DPA.
  • 4–32 TB of monthly outbound data with no per-GiB overage bill; the penalty is a 10 Mbps throttle.
  • An unusually complete automation surface for a budget VPS: dashboard, CLI, Python/TypeScript SDKs, REST API and an official MCP server.
  • Free weekly backups with two weekly and two daily restore points.

Using it without writing code

DashboardYes: a VPS dashboard with status and resource graphs, a browser console and Hostinger Agent, Docker Manager, snapshots and backups, firewall, SSH keys, OS reinstall, DNS manager, API tokens and plan upgrade.
Without codePartly. The purchase and an application template such as OpenClaw, Hermes or n8n are click-through, but connecting a model key, a chat channel or a domain usually needs the terminal. Hostinger's separate managed AI automation plan is the no-terminal product.
SignupA Hostinger account and a card. There is no free tier or starting credit; the exit is a 30-day money-back guarantee, with a 180-day cooldown after a VPS refund.
Docs and supportA large support knowledge base plus a separate API reference with OpenAPI-generated CLI, SDK and MCP docs. The VPS dashboard also embeds Hostinger Agent, an AI console that runs commands in natural language.

Caveats and contradictions

Shown as the research found them. A contradiction means the provider's own pages disagree; an open question means the answer is not published.

  1. 01

The advertised price is not the ongoing price Open question

The VPS page was in a Black Friday sale on 2026-10-30 and leads with 24-month introductory prices ($6.49–$25.99/mo), with the full term paid upfront. The 1-month term renews at $19.49–$73.99/mo. The card uses the 1-month renewal; the 12- and 24-month renewals are lower but prepaid.

  2. 02

"Dedicated resources" sits beside a shared host and a CPU credit throttle Contradiction

The VPS page says "Get dedicated resources" and the Docker page says "Guaranteed resources", while the hosting agreement says VPS customers "share a server with other customers" and the CPU credit article says capacity is cut when credits run out. The CPU is not a permanently dedicated core.

“Get dedicated resources, root access, and the freedom to configure your server your way.”
    Hostingerdocs-confirmed
“If you purchase VPS, you will share a server with other customers, but you will have full control over your server space and the complete configuration of your virtual instance on the server.”
    Hostingerdocs-confirmed
    “40% on KVM 1 and 30% on KVM 2, KVM 4 and KVM 8”
    Hostingerdocs-confirmed
  3. 03

Hostinger's own pages disagree on the throttled CPU floor Contradiction

The CPU credit article says 40% on KVM 1 and 30% on the larger plans. A separate CPU-limit FAQ says 5% to 20% depending on the plan. The model uses the credit article's figures and treats the FAQ as unresolved.

    “40% on KVM 1 and 30% on KVM 2, KVM 4 and KVM 8”
    Hostingerdocs-confirmed
“It is limited only when the credit balance is empty, to between 5% and 20% of capacity depending on your plan.”
    Hostingerdocs-confirmed
  4. 04

"Change location anytime" is not true for a running VPS Contradiction

The VPS marketing page says you can move a VPS to any of the 10 locations. The support article says the location is fixed after setup and the only alternative is to back up and reinstall in another data center.

    “Change location anytime”
    Hostingerdocs-confirmed
“For VPS, the server location is fixed after initial setup. As an alternative, you can backup and reinstall the VPS on a different data center.”
    Hostingerdocs-confirmed
  5. 05

The only snapshot expires after one day Open question

A manual snapshot captures the whole VPS, but only one can exist, a new one overwrites it, and it is deleted after 1 day. Weekly backups are the longer-lived protection, and restoring either overwrites the current server.

  6. 06

Stopping does not stop the bill Open question

The stop endpoint calls it a compute-only power change that does not affect billing. A machine that is off for 640 hours still pays the full monthly plan, and its memory and running processes are gone.

  7. 07

The managed agent plan is a different product Open question

Hostinger's managed AI automation plan runs OpenClaw, Hermes, n8n or Paperclip (from $4.99/mo on 24 months, $10.99/mo monthly); it is not a VPS plan. The VPS templates give root and a persistent disk but no managed automatic updates, AI credits or Telegram pairing; those are terminal work.

  8. 08

Hostinger quotes GB, the calculator uses GiB Open question

Hostinger labels RAM and disk in GB; the calculator's fields are GiB. The card maps 8/16/32 GB and 50–400 GB 1:1 to GiB. If those are decimal GB, 32 GB is 29.8 GiB and the largest plan is just under the 32 GiB mark. A/B/C asks are smaller and unaffected.

$24.49

KVM 2: 2 vCPU / 8 GiB / 100 GiB (plan: Monthly-billed (1-month term))

  • Monthly plan (KVM 2)1 × $24.49 a month, running 166.67 h of tasks back to back$24.49
  • The card uses the 1-month term's renewal price, the ongoing price for a month-to-month buyer. The first month is discounted: KVM 1 $9.99, KVM 2 $13.99, KVM 4 $25.99, KVM 8 $50.99.
  • Term choice: the card prices the 1-month term at renewal, because it is the only monthly-billed term. The 12-month and 24-month terms are cheaper per month but are paid upfront for the whole term. Their renewal prices per month are: KVM 1 $12.99 / $11.99, KVM 2 $16.99 / $14.99, KVM 4 $30.99 / $28.99, KVM 8 $53.99 / $49.99. The corresponding upfront totals are $155.88 / $287.76, $203.88 / $359.76, $371.88 / $695.76 and $647.88 / $1,199.76.
  • Prices were read during Hostinger's Black Friday sale on 2026-10-30. The introductory first-period prices may change when the sale ends; the renewal prices are the regular ongoing prices and are the ones the card uses.
  • The advertised 24-month prices ($6.49, $8.79, $12.99, $25.99) are introductory and apply only when the full 24 months is paid upfront. They are not the ongoing price and are not used in the card.
  • A powered-off VPS keeps billing. The stop endpoint says: "This is a compute-only power state change and does not affect billing." Workload C therefore pays the full plan price, not 90 hours.
  • CPU is burstable under a credit system, not a permanently dedicated core. The baseline is 60% of allocated CPU; a full balance covers about three hours at 100%; after that the plan is throttled. This does not bind A, B or C, which sit at or below the baseline on average.
  • One manual snapshot at a time, deleted after 1 day. Weekly backups are free and up to four are retained (two daily, two weekly); daily backups are a paid add-on whose price varies by plan.
  • The managed AI automation plan runs OpenClaw, Hermes, n8n or Paperclip; it is $4.99/mo on a 24-month term (renewing at $11.99/mo) and $10.99/mo on the 1-month term. It is a separate product, not these VPS plans, and is not priced by this card.
  • No separate platform fee; the plan price is the whole machine charge. A free domain for one year is included but is not part of the machine price.
  • Hostinger quotes RAM and disk in GB; the card maps those figures 1:1 to the site's GiB fields. If they are decimal GB, 32 GB is 29.8 GiB and the largest plan is just under the 32 GiB mark. A/B/C asks are smaller and unaffected.
  • Hostinger sells whole monthly plans, not machine-hours. The calculator bills each machine its plan price, and runs short tasks back to back on as few plans as their hours need: 1,000 ten-minute tasks fit on one KVM 2 for $24.49.
